Video Cards

I thought I would start a thread to log the different experiences users are having. I am in the process of testing a few different cards.

Nvidia Quadro FX4600 - works with UGC software, works with player (but performance is marginal at best)

ATI Radeon 5750 - UGC crashes when launched. Ignition works. I tested it using the I viewer3D demo files and it performed well.

I have a few more cards to test out so I will post those results soon.

In general the Quadro cards are not well-suited for real-time gaming-type applications. For one thing, their shader implementation generally underperforms, and the Alioscopy mixing occurs in a shader. There are other factors as well.

The Radeon data is interesting as we've not had anyone using that card yet. It might be worth adding some diagnostics to the UGC startup phase to see where the crash is occurring.
