Textures must be placed in your template and models directory as they will appear when someone else installs your template. This means that you cannot use textures that are scattered randomly around your system. The rules are as follows:

1. Textures that are applied to models (those exported from 3ds max) should be in the same directory as the model file.
2. Textures that are used AS TEXTURE SWAPS can be in the same directory as the model, or in the template directory. You may want to put a texture in the template directory if you want to use that texture as a texture swap for more than one actor in your template. This saves a little space rather than putting duplicating the texture for each actor in the actor directory. NOTE: you may also use any texture that is found in the Shared Directory as a texture swap without moving it to your template or actor directories.
3. Textures used for particle systems must go in the template directory. NOTE: you may also use any texture that is found in the Shared Directory as a particle texture without moving it to your template directory.
